Anyone suffer from this and have remedies? Mine is worsened by the flu - but I need to find a way to breathe and sleep. Apparently second trimester is the worst.

I had this really bad with my last pregnancy. I would have to sleep with my mouth open which resulted in a sore throat and chapped lips. Yuk! I used a humidifier on the night table near my bed. My poor husband! He would leave the room claiming it was too warm and stuffy feeling. I'm sorry to say that the only thing that 'healed' it was time. Good luck! I would also have chapstick nearby and something to drink.

What worked for me were lots of liquids (preferably warm), a humidifier while sleeping, and using a neti pot.
My prayers are with you,

I second the neti pot and humidifier. Use the neti pot right before bed, and again in the morning. I prefer a cool-mist humidifier over a warm-mist version. These helped so much in pregnancy that they have become regular appliances in our house, for parents and kids!

all of the above would help.. though I've never used a humidifier myself..
one thing I also use is eucalyptus essential oil.. I think you can put it in the humidifier.. but since I don't use that (besides that would REALLY run off my dh ) I just put a few drops on a hankie and place that on my pillow so that I can breathe it. Also elevate your head.. and not just your head.. head and shoulders so that you don't hurt your neck

Last pregnancy I was told by my CNM that Tylenol Cold P.M. is safe during pregnancy. Worked for me when I was past natural remedies!

Yes, I'm suffering right along with you but no, I have no remedies except drinking lots and lots of water. Now, if only I would follow my own advice! [sniff, sniff]
Glad you're feeling better though!!

Thanks everyone. I am trying to really help myself - I am a bit leery of humidifiers (have to research which one to get) but bought a little Vicks steam vaporizer and run that with just water - makes a huge difference. I sleep with my head very elevated. I can't use a nettipot because it hurts my ears - but I make the saline mixture and use it out of an old Ocean spray bottle. I am drinking tons of water and tea. Sometimes it really gets me down - generally evenings and early mornings - but I am learning to manage it. I cannot do tylenol cold - I cannot tolerate pseudophenedrin - makes my heart race and makes me panicky. So no decongestants are allowed for me. I have the Olbas oil - but am not sure if it helps or makes worse - I am in two minds about it.
BUT - I have found a lifesaver - I have been for a couple of acupuncture treatements (orthodox wonderful Catholic practitioner) - after a session it is like a miracle. This has also helped me manage the anxiety of feeling congested and not breathing properly.
