Hi all,
I have a prayer request. This is serious, and upsetting. My niece tried to take her own life while away at college last night via pills. We think it was primarily a cry for help, as she has been prone to some psychological issues since grade school, and has been having a lot of depression and difficulty lately, but she's never done anything like this, and it's been VERY upsetting for the entire family. Physically, she's now OK, and in no medical danger, thank God. The entire family prayed a Rosary together for her last night, as we were gathering for our Sunday family gathering. There was something very powerful about that. But ALL of the young tweens and teens were having a REALLY difficult time with this, as they are all SO close. If you could also pray for our oldest son in particular, he's really having a tough time with this. Our other two are as well, but Jake's a very vulnerable kid right now, and could use some extra prayer. My niece Maria has a special place in my heart. I just love this beautiful girl to pieces. Please pray for her, and for my brother in law and sister in law as well. This is just a tough day.

p.s. Just a note...we have a HUGE extended family as my husband is one of 9, and I'm one of 6, so we have over 50 nieces and nephews. I just wanted to put the amount of tweens and teens into perspective. They are all extremely close (like siblings), and there are many and they are blessings to us.
UPDATE:
My niece was released from the hospital yesterday, and is now home with our family. Physically, she is better, but she needs prayers for healing in so many other areas in her life. Please continue to pray for her as you feel you can, and also especially for her parents as well. This situation is a very difficult one for all of the family. Thank you so much.

That is so very tragic and sad, Tracy. My heart aches for your family and for Maria. May God speed help and comfort her way and also to your hurting family.
St. Dymphna, intercede for Maria in a special way today and through the tough times to come.
