Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My 9yo dd and I went on the ultimate unplanned nature walk today. It started out simple enough, walking the road to grandmas (1 1/2 miles)for a nice visit and bird watching on the way. Well somehow we got the not so great idea to walk to the back of her property and follow the creek(dried up) back home. I should have turned around half way back on her property but we treaded on. I will spare you all of the details but dd ended up with snail shells, clam shells, antlers, and feathers. We had our walking sticks which I used to stir up the ground in front of us which was good as we came across a snake. Sorry, no ID. It went one way w went the other. We left my Moms at 11:06 a.m. and finally made it out of the woods at 12:48p.m.My skirt was torn, my legs all scratched up and a small hole in my head from going under barbed wire.
I would not do it again without being more prepared but it was a great time for us.
Well just thought I would share

That really sounds like a lovely way to spend an afternoon, Darlene!!! Ripped skirt and all!

The antlers will make an extraordinary addition to the nature shelf!!! Think of all the little critters you could perch atop them!
