Please pray for my oldest, Colin, as he has surgery on Monday. He has 2 brachial cleft cysts on each side of his neck which we've always taken a "wait and see" approach with. For various reasons, we've decided that now is the time to have them removed.
It's an outpatient surgery, but he is very worked up about it. As he enumerated it for me: 1) He has never wanted to have surgery in his life; 2) It is very rare and doctors always say they have never seen them; 3) They are not infected; and 4) His friends will continue to ask him about them, it'll just be the scars now.
So, please pray for his peace (he's very intense and thoughtful). And that the doctor is skillful.

My Brigid was very thoughtful about her surgeries too.
She has had mixed feelings about her scars. Once her sister suggested she make up an outlandish story about her scars, she had a better outlook.
Better to get rid of them before they get infected too.
Surgery?, he does not get to pick but won't it make him a more compassionate man?--This kind of reasoning worked for Brigid (of course she did not have a choice).

Poor little guy! Surgery is scary and this is so much for a young one to think about. I am praying for you all, especially Colin!
