Went to dr. today and was told this is what my daughter has. Anyone been through this? She has had eczema for awhile and now this. I am looking for natural remedies. I read about tea tree oil and witch hazel. Any other tips or ideas?

They are tough to get rid of. My daughter had them - it was a long time ago. I think the theory was that if you treated a few - the body would mount a defense and they would all go away. I think we tried cauterizing them one time which was pretty awful. The next pediatrician used Retin A. I think this worked. But, I seem to remember we were fighting them for months not weeks.
We didn't use any natural remedies.

I hate to tell you that we've been fighting this for over a year now in our family. First I think Lucas (6) had it, then Mary (9) about the same time, Emma (3), and also baby Carrie (1). I think we got it at the pool summer before last. We saw a dermatologist for a while this summer because Mary's was on her face real bad and I was worried about scarring. The baby has it on the back of her head, just about the nape of her neck going up.
Lucas' went away fairly quickly which was really odd to me since he's the eczema boy here. Mary's had some treated with liquid nitrogen and other stuff by the dermatologist (ones on her face.. some near eyes needed to be watched carefully). Ours got complicated about Sept. when some of it turned into impetigo that the P.A. at the dermatologist didn't diagnose and basically treated me like an idiot so I stopped going there and just talked to our regular pediatrician going forward.
I try to not stress about it... it's a virus that just runs its course, from what I know, anyway. I haven't tried the tea tree oil since it's mainly the baby that has it most notably at the moment and didn't want to use something so strong on her delicate skin.
Mary (9) still has one now and then but not as bad as it was at one time. Poor thing really had them bad along her chin and cheek line a while and was teased some about it...
I hope it's about done with us!

I had a feeling this was going to last awhile...in fact I think we have had this before without a diagnoses. We have had impetigo (twice!)
I just ordered tea tree oil and witch hazel wipes from drugstore.com so we'll see how those work...
JoAnna, you said tea tree was strong...I have never used it, do you think it would be OK for a 4 yr old?

My son has this, and my doctor gave me this useful information sheet.
In particular, it gives reasons why one might not want to treat it, but let it go of its own accord -- but it also tells you about how to squeeze it to encourage it to go more quickly.
In my son's case, we've just left it -- it's tiny, underneath his chin, and doesn't bother him.

My DD 12 had it when she was about 7 yo and they went away pretty well, but I think one lingered for a few years and gave it to my youngest DD and she had it really bad. Poor thing had it all over her face. It looked like she had chicken pox and she was embarrased of them. So I reasearched and found so much conflicting information.
Her ped said to leave them alone and I did until they got to the point that she was not feeling herself. So I found this website I can't remember what the name of it was I have to look and they recommended colodial silver.

I ordered the smallest package and followed the instructions.
You basically have to treat the one that is biggest and reddest, I know this is going to sound gross.
But when you squeeze it this hard puss would come out then I was able to to put the silver cure on it and also on the rest. That one big red one acted like the leader of the pack. It was wierd. Sorry for making it sound corny. 
It is a virus and it is very contagious so you have to treat everyone. It did take a few weeks for my DD but were able to get rid of them.
Now my ds that is 2 has one little one under his eye but it hasn't acted up or spread everywhere. So I am just watching it.

I've used Tea Tree oil on my babies when mixed with a carrier oil, usually olive oil, with no ill effects. I would think the wipes would be dillute enough for your four yo.
