Eternal thanks to all of you who have been praying for our family after the tragic death of my goddaughter, Aimee, and for the consolation of her family.
It made for a difficult Christmas in some ways, but God has sustained and blessed us in many ways and, as I have said to some of you, in more ways than I have shared. Some things I have not said, out of respect for the family. But God is so, so good.
I never found the time to post the request here, but many of you found the news (or should I call it a "saga"?) on my blog and sent emails our way, and I shared those with the family.
The family continues to heal (I recently posted pix of their smiling faces!), though my sister in particular has a way to go before she is herself again. Still, the head injury is a kind of "buffer" for her grief, and a mercy in its own way.
Again, I can't thank you all enough for your support and your prayers.
If you've not yet read the story (and it is a wonderful story of grace), it begins here.

I'm so sorry, Kathryn. I had not known about the accident and am just catching up with your blog now. Truly, it's an amazing story. It seems like the grace of God that you were able to contact the travelers who stayed to help your family, and the young couple in the other car. Anyway, I have lots of new people to pray for now, and I won't soon forget such a testimony of grace.

Thank you all for your prayers and support - we have had a tremendously difficult year, beginning with the sudden death of my father, my mother's illness, our dear aunt and another good friend dying suddenly, etc...
Elizabeth said it best: "I know you appreciate suffering, but does God have to love you so much?"
But truly, we have been blessed even as we have been bereaved. Aimee was such a good girl; as my daughter said, "No one could say anything bad about her!" And that was really true. Now she is paving our way, I'm sure.
Meanwhile, we "give thanks in ALL circumstances."
Grazie mille di cuore,
