Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I wanted to share with y'all. This is from a good friend of ours who is a phenomenal teacher and amazing Catholic ...

Quote:

(Over Christmas) I was able to visit my younger daughter in Honduras where she is teaching English. But all of that was made possible by living through the Continental plane crash you may have read about (in Denver a few days before Christmas). That was an amazing experience; I’m just glad there were more than a 100 saints on the plane so that I could be preserved by their presence! I arrived in Honduras 2 days later with no belongings and was met by my daughter who had been robbed the day before of all of her material possessions on the streets of Tegucigalpa. We had each other and the Lord—our first real Christmas in many, many years. In the taxi on the way from the airport to the city, what should come on the radio of the cab but a Spanish version of Chris Tomlin’s “How Great Is Our God”? Yes, He is!!

Doesn't that just make you feel good?

Amazing!

Mary, why is it that I have to find out things like this from you and not my own son!?!?!?!?! I read this and wondered if it was who I thought it was. So when I asked J at dinner last night, he said, yeah he found out about it on Monday (first day back at school) but didn't think to tell us. We never heard anything throught he grapevine about him being on that plane. Now that our informant at the school is gone we aren't in the know.

That's boys for ya! the same thing happens around here with dh!

The weird thing was that when we read about the crash we immediately tried to think of anyone we might know who would have been on the plane ... but couldn't ... but dh and I both sent up a prayer of thanksgiving for all on board.

I just am so impressed by Mr. L's faith ... it just made me feel so good to be Catholic and BELIEVE!
