Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I would like to start doing First Friday devotion with my kids.

For those of you who do this, other than going to mass, what else do you do?

Hi, Sylvia~

Here are some of the little things that we've done in the past (not all of them, all the time, of course......

**Make a special effort to display our Sacred Heart Statue in a prominent place on that Friday.
**The girls made "Sacred Heart Place Cards" that we use for dinner only on these Fridays, and on SH Feast Day.
**Red candles on the table. Red tablecloth, red napkins.
**Read the Lovasik children's book about the Sacred Heart.
**Special SH prayers before bed or after mealtime.
**SH coloring page.
**Decade of the Rosary for intentions of the SH
**Pray part of the Litany of SH

Non-child-related:
** Confession 1/month
**Adoration

Here are the [/quote]12 Promises:

Thanks Suzanne! What great ideas!

I have to admit to not being familiar with the litany, so I will look that up as well as look for the book. The kids will love the ideas about statute, table cloth and candles!

I am looking forward to adding this to our family traditions!
