Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My twins (Rebecca and Katherine 14) and my dd Christina (3) will be celebrating their birthday on the Feast of the Three Kings....so 3 girls/3 Kings seem to be a great party theme to me!

Ideas anyone?

I was thinking of making 3 different kinds of Cheesecake to celebrate with...what a way to go!!...dontcha think? ;o) did I mention how hard post-partum weight loss is this time of year??!

God love you!

Seems like some kind of game involving a journey/treasure hunt that kind of thing is in order...

...also, for my oldest's fourth birthday party, we had a princess theme. One of our games was burying "gems", those plastic ones you get at the craft store, in the sandbox. They found their gems and then we glued them onto silver paper crowns. I'm not sure how I thought digging for gems in the sand was princess like at the time...it must have tied in somehow... She's 12 now, so that was a long time ago and I don't remember!

My dh's birthday is the 6th, so I like to play up the epiphany. Regalness is in store.

Crown cakes seem in order for the day. King Cakes? Yummy! And insert "favors" or prizes into the cake. I love to read about all the different Three Kings, 12th Night, Crown, or King Cakes from all different countries. And so many countries (especially Hispanic) have beautiful customs on this day that you could easily incorporate into your party. Have the girls do some research to see what ignites their passion.

At our Epiphany celebrations we get everyone involved, so that the children wear crowns and capes and have treasures to give to the Newborn King. I know they are girls, but decorating crowns, making treasure boxes to present as gifts to the Christ Child, and incorporate an Epiphany House Blessing as part of the party.

If you have a manger with Christ Child, have the girls make a crown and regal cape for Jesus to wear on the feast of Epiphany (purple is regal, although we choose red in our family). Get some pretty gold braids or ribbons, buttons or jewels, use backs of Christmas cards (gold) to make the crown base.

Seems you could do some kind of game that incorporates finding the star, or working in some art with constellations or such.

Make a pinata that looks like King Herod.

How about a scavenger hunt that has items like the 3 wise men, straw for camels, crown, jewels, gold, perfume bottles for myrrh, spice jar for incense, etc.

Just ideas off the top of my head.

you will include the blessing of the three kings on your house right? We always do this with a priest friend-an annual tradition. Having three kids having a birthday on the same day sounds super fun!

No ideas off the top but I can see the possibilities.

What a fun day to have a b-day!
