Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Have any of you read this?

If so, would you recommend it?

I've been eyeing Donna-Marie Cooper O'Boyle's books for while, since I saw an interview on EWTN. But I never seem to get the most out of "study guides", so I'm eager to hear feedback, also.

Janet asked about 2 of her books in this thread: Anybody read these books?

And, Sarah, I'm going to change the title of the thread to "Donna-Marie Cooper O'Boyle.......maybe we'll get some more feedback.

Have you read/seen any of her her other books? Like Jenn, I've been wanting to read/peruse them, but my library doesn't have any.

**Catholic Prayer Book for Mothers
**The Heart of Motherhood
**Prayerfully Expecting
**Catholic Saints Prayer book
**Grace Cafe: Serving up recipes for faithful mothering
**The Domestic Church: room by room

I have her two newest books:
Grace Cafe
The Domestic Church

From what I've gleaned so far they are both thoughtful and beautiful and uplifting.

I just haven't had time to sit with them and really read them yet. Perhaps this Christmas season.

I'll update when I do.

I'm hoping this is in my stocking this year! Wouldn't this make a great book discussion here?!

Donna is a friend of mine. Her books are lovely, she is a very spirit-filled woman and I'm sure you will find that it comes through in her writing.

Can't go wrong with one of her titles in the stocking. - ;-)

Blessings,

I have been eying any or all of her books for the 'end of pregnancy when I can't move anymore'. I'm glad to hear your recommendation, Nissa!

You bet! I am really looking forward to babymoon. The complete absorption in a new little person is the *only* way to get me to joyfully sit still.

Blessings,

Review of The Domestic Church: Room by Room, at Tea at Trianon. I received this for Christmas, and plan on reading/doing it for the Easter season.

The Domestic Church looks really good! I agree that it would be great for a group discussion here on the board!

I read the Heart of Motherhood. It was basic, simple, yet beautiful. I think it would be a wonderful present for a young Catholic mother - esp one who is trying to learn about and grow in her vocation. I wish I had read it 20 years earlier. It would be an excellent baby shower gift.

I am in a book club and am going to bring up her other books. They look like excellent choices.

Donna Marie will be leading a weekly reflection based on passages from her book "The Domestic Church: Room by Room" at These Forty Days. I'm very grateful to have her input to the blog this year as she is busy finishing up yet another book "The Heart of Catholicism", which will be published by Penguin.

Blessings,

Also coming back to add that I have had Catholic Prayer Book for Mothers for a couple months now, and it's the perfect little prayer/inspiration book for my purse! Good for those little minute-long-pick-me-ups that we need A LOT!

It would also make a GREAT gift!

Donna-Marie Cooper O'Boyle has a new book out: Mother Teresa and Me: Ten Years of Friendship.

There is a neat interview with her here.

I received this for Christmas and am halfway through. Digesting in small parts as I really meditate on it. Although I'm not a new mum it still speaks to me as I need to spring clean certain areas of my life. It is really encouraging me in my vocation.
I'm wondering about her prayer book, has anyone got it?
