Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I discovered this book from one of today's postings on the Crafty Crow (the magnetic bookmark post). It seems like a great Bible as it tries to do what Scott Hahn has been teaching us all along; the Old Testament reveals the New Testament and vise versa. It's a Protestant bible so I'm wondering if anyone has any negative feedback concerning any anti-Catholic content.

Here's the link to amazon.Jesus Storybook Bible

We've got this. We've read it cover to cover, and apart from one passage (which I don't exactly recall, and don't have time to search for), it's absolutely fine. In fact, more than that, it's great. Lovely full colour illustrations on every page, and a very coherent overall 'story'. My kids pore over it.

I went over to the Christian bookstore and checked it out. I did not read it cover-to cover but what I did read was really good. It reads more like a story teller with little insider info to set the stage a bit more. For instance, she mentions that when Jesus washed their feet, it was a completely stinky job because everyone wore sandals and there was poop everywhere in the streets during His time. I was concerned about the Last Supper story but when I read it, I didn't find anything anti-Catholic. I just felt that it lacked the "fullness" of Catholic doctrine which is different. I think it's a sweet introduction to Scott Hahn's teachings and I will be buying this Bible storybook.
