I love the cute crochetted hats Charlotte has posted on her blog. Could someone please tell me how to adjust for size on those hats so that I can make smaller ones for my daughters? Would I just use a smaller hook?
Thank you!

Yes definitely you can use a smaller hook. Then you could also experiment with using a different weight of yarn, for example if they use worsted you could use a sport weight. Here's a pic of some teddy bears I made last year, they were all done with the same pattern, but I used a chunky weight yarn and a larger hook and the teddy was quite a lot larger which was just neat.
Not sure if you care to see a pic, but the teddy at the back that looks dark brown is the one, the blue one I propped up. Teddy Bears

Thanks so much Rebecca! Looks like I'm on the right path.
Sarah, Charlotte's the great detective. There's quite a collection of hats there!

Hi,
I missed this post Brenda or I would have responded earlier. A smaller hook would make a smaller hat. Most of the yarns I used were already thinner than worsted weight (like a Baby Soft weight) so I don't think that would make as much of a difference. I made a smaller one for my one year old niece by using a G hook and eliminating a few of the repeated rows. PM me if you need more details.

The crocheted version is found Becky's Bear and the Knitted Bear is found there.
They are fun and quick to make, I made one for each of my dc last Christmas and they are very treasured and beloved.
