Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've been doing some research on Waldorf lately and have read about using movement in math. I think my boys would benefit from this from time to time, but I can't seem to find examples of what to do. Does anyone have ideas or a website? I have kids of all ages, so any level of work would be useful.

Thanks!

I am just thinking about this myself as I also have a DS who LOVES to move! Some of the ideas I have come across are:

-pass a ball and shout out the times tables
-march (stomp) and shout out skip counting (e.g. for 3 you would walk lightly and say 1,2, and then stomp and shout 3, say lightly 4,5, and stomp and shout 6, etc.)
-number lines drawn in chalk on the driveway. You can do all sorts of math with the number line- including negative numbers.
-for number recognition, you can write numbers in circles on the drive, play music (or sing) while they run around the circles, stop the music and call out a number. They have to go and put a foot in the circle with that number. In fact, you can do this with answers to sums, too.
- shooting baskets (as in shooting something into a basket- even a laundry one works) and keeping score is counting by 2's.
- set up a treasure hunt or obstacle course. Incorporate math. For example, the clue to the hunt may require math to get to the next clue. Word problems work well here. You can have a couple possible number answers with clues on the back. Only the correct answer leads them to the correct clue.

Looking forward to the ideas of others and any helpful links.

I think if you'd search for Kinesthetic + Math you'll find more examples, those keywords play into the much more popular Multiple Intelligences theory than the rather small amount available online for Waldorf.
