Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

That's what I'm doing this afternoon. Doesn't that sound funny - not something a seminarian would usually be a part of. So to explain. There is a group of 4 young men from our diocesan seminary who have formed a group called the Companions of Christ. Their focus is to form a brotherhood of support for seminarians and particularly for diocesan priests who often live alone and lack the brotherhood and companionship to bolster them in their vocations and living out the new evangelization. These young men are totally awesome - holy and on fire!

So anyway, they have recently moved into their community house and the "kitchen shower" I'm hosting with our homeschool group is to help them stock their kitchen so they will be able to provide their Lord's Day dinners to fellow seminarians and priests. I promised the guys I wouldn't make them play any silly shower games - Can you imagine?

Please keep Matt, Mike, John, and Brian in your prays for their vocations and for this awesome ministry of brotherhood.

I love this! How I wish I could be there ... but God has other plans ....

Give our best to the Companions and let them know they have prayer warriors in NoVA praying for 'em!

So very cool! We'll keep the young men and their ministry in our prayers!
