I have noticed yesterday and today that dd12 (almost 13) is in a particularly unpleasant mood. This is a child who seems to function best with a good routine/schedule. I had a flash of inspiration that her *mood* might be related to the time change. Even though there was an extra hour of sleep from Saturday into Sunday, it's just SO dark, way too early. Do you all notice these kinds of adjustment glitches with yourselves and/or your children?
Peace,
Nancy

In AZ we didn't change clocks.
Now in NV - we changed them yesterday for the first time in like 20 years. We are all kinds of messed up. And I am talking the adults, too.

Ugh. Maybe that's the reason we're all, every one of us, out of sorts. Out of sorts is putting it mildly.
Perhaps the sugar hangovers and the time change this weekend are responsible for the ugly behavior in my neck of the woods.
Lord have mercy, I hope my family adjusts soon!

I think it is the hype/crash of the Halloween sugar/festivities myself. Plus the tension over election stuff. My kids are picking up on that big time. Though it is getting dark ridiculously early here, even without the time change. So that might have some effect.Perhaps a combination of all the above?

Not to hijack this thread, but Theresa, I have been enjoying your blog, especially since you moved to Fairbanks. Way back when, in 1995, my dh had two job offers out of grad school. One was from the University of Alaska at Fairbanks, and one was from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. DH took into consideration the misgivings and concerns of his native California bride and we ended up in Hawaii. I often wonder what our life would have been like if we had chosen Alaska. At this point in my life, I probably would choose differently, Alaska over Hawaii, but the point is moot now...we are back in CA with no plans to go elsewhere!

Thanks, Lisa.
We love it here. But you know, when we were out trick-or-treating in negative 4 degrees, Hawaii would have sounded pretty sweet!LOL!

I've been out of sorts since the time change/Halloween/election bombardment. My poor kids have seen first hand what happens when mommy's internal clock gets all out-of-whack. They are pretty teary, too, though. Of course, dh has had the time change/Halloween/ election to deal with, too, and he's not moody at all, so maybe that's just my excuse....
