Switched on Schoolhouse Mathmatics
Noble Knights Math
Advanced Math It
If you have, what did you think of it? what grade did you use it for? Did it have daily lesson plans? Was it a spiral or single approach?
Why did you like it?
Thanks so much for any help.

I think it was you that I meant to reply to before, and I'm sorry I forgot.
I recently got Noble Knights. I love it. I thought it looked pretty neat from the website and when I got the box and saw al the animals and gems and everything! But then I watched the little DVD that goes with (I usually skip things like that, and just figure it out myself.) But after watching the DVD, I was SO excited to start. (you can get the DVD for free at the website. I highly recommend that, she goes through so much of the program, showing how things are used, etc.)
NKoK is good for grades 1-4 - but she said it is easily adaptable to older kids too.
It has detailed lessons and notes but not daily lesson plans per se. It really makes so much more sense when you watch the DVD. You would use the book and present a lesson - judging from your children how advanced to make it, and you would loop back around at a later time and re-visit concepts.
The program is great in the way that it introduces even multiplication and divison in a way that a K-er could grasp.
I love that it is hands on (the glass gems are hard to resist for the kids!) I love that it is so visual, and colorful, and story based, and FUN. I was intimidated with the story aspect of it - but my kids LOVE it.
I have had a love / hate relationship with Math until this point. But, this makes math truely a JOY. The kids love Math now, it is FUN, and they are getting a VERY solid grasp of those essential base concepts. And no workbooks needed! We work on the erasable rainbow board and IDK why that makes it so much more fun, but it does....
I was very unsure about buying 'one more math program' - we have so many (SO many!) and was this really going to be any different?
I am so glad we got it.
Really - I highly advise anyone who is considering it to get the free DVD. You will know so much better after watching it whether or not it might be something that would be a good fit for your family. The website is good, but the DVD - she really shows you how to do it, I think.
hth,

Thanks so much for the reply. I have requested a DVD. I am very curious, but I am also a little worried about my follow through with a math program that doesn't line some things up for me. I am so good with other subjects, but not with that one.

Just wondering if you decided to order this program. Do you like it?
Laura, is this still working for you?
I have had a very difficult time finding program to suit my third-grader and I'm wondering if this would be a nice change of pace for him. He loves stories and is very artistic... I thought the color and story aspect of this would be good but I'm also concerned about it being a distraction.
Thanks,
DeAnn

I love it
I highly, highly suggest getting the free CD and NOT just going off the website. It made a world of difference in understanding the program and if it will work for your family.

cactus mouse,
How long did it take for NK to get to you? I ordered a bit ago, but aside from a confirmation email I have not had a response to any emails I have sent.....Just curious about your customer service experience....
