Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi,
Would you please pray for me? I'm a mom of 7, my baby girl is 6 days old and I just found a lump on my right underarm.   I'll be calling my dr. first thing Monday morning.
Thank you.

This happened to me when I was in high school, and it turned out to be nothing, treatable with a topical medication. I am sorry you have to worry until Monday though.

Congratulations on your new baby. I will pray that you have peace of mind this weekend.

Mary,
You have my prayers.

Do you think it has anything to do with your milk coming in? As a mother of 7, I know you'd know this already; but it was the first thing that popped into my mind.

Hopefully by Monday, it'll be gone. I'll be praying...

I think the lump is related to my milk coming in (plugged duct). I've been using advice I've been given-massaging, warm compresses, hot showers and the lump has diminished in size. Theresa has difficulty nursing on that side, so I think that's related also.

I'm glad it is getting smaller. Get as much rest as possible and ask Our Lady of La Leche for her intercession. I will definitely pray for you.

Congratulations on your baby girl, Mary. I'm glad to hear that the lump is getting smaller. With my last baby I was reminded anew about things common to breastfeeding, including a lump under my right arm. I felt that John Paul and I were nursing well yet I still had a big, hard, lump. Go figure.

Keep taking good care of yourself and we'll keep praying for you!

God bless,
