Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My younger sister just asked me to be her confirmation sponsor. I left home when she was 2, and have never been very close, even now, we still live 1 hour and a half away.
She gave me the sponsor handbook this weekend and it is utterly boring and designed for kids who have never had faith and religion talked about at home.

I really want to use this opportunity to tighten our bond and help her deepen her faith.

Any ideas, books, etc.. would be more than welcome. I am planning on meeting with her once a month and spend a couple of hours together.

Appreciate all of your help!
God bless,
Mattie

The Prove It books are pretty good. Also, in another thread I just started, Lara Sauer reminded me of the book, A Philadelphia Catholic in King James Court. I read this with my oldest a few years back. Good story with catechisis wound in nicely.

I bought my dd12 A Young Woman after God's Heart for Christmas, but we haven't started it.
