Does anyone know anything about the series of books called the Guardians of GaHoole (or something like that)? All I can tell is that it is mainly about owls and that it is fantasy. My son (12) is curious but I'm always a little cautious about books of this genre. Ds has read all the Redwall books and the Lord of the Rings books so I think the reading level will be fine. It's the content I worry about.

Thanks Karen! This list is such a great help. I think we'll just skip the Guardians... Hopefully I'll find something else to capture his attention. I'm trying to get him interested in other kinds of books. He was so into fantasy he wouldn't consider anything else for his own reading. I think I have him interested in the Farmer Boy type books from another thread though. I don't mind fantasy, I just think he needs a little variety in his reading.
