Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone have both The Good Shepherd and the Child and Moira Farrell's manual and could you tell me the difference between the two?

My search skills seem to be a slump lately. I had to ask MaryM for help yesterday. I seem to recall typing out the contents of presentations for The Good Shepherd and the Child and Moira's albums, but I can't seem to locate it.

These are the meatiest threads which give some detail. My answer might even be in those pages but I may have missed it.

Moira’s albums and CGS training

Moira’s albums - some Q&A

A short answer to your question is that Moira's manual is her personal manaul of presentations for her home atrium. It is not officially Catechesis of the Good Shepherd material. But it include patterns and scripts for the home presentations.

Good Shepherd and the Child explains and outlines the CGS program, showing the presentations and summarizes them. There is no script or materials directions, although you can probably put together some presentations from the text.

I'm short of time, but wanted to make sure you had something to read over the Sunday break.

The Good Shepherd and the Child is

I'd like to share with you some quotes from the latest CGS newsletter that gets sent to the U.S. from Sofia herself and translated for us CGS members.

Quote from Consiglio Internazionale Summer 2008, Rome:
Last year we had already noted the spreading of our work among "the least ones" (pertaining both to chronological age and to the Gospel's use of the term.) Yet since, then this movement has intesified and has unfolded more rapidly. This has come about largely becuase the Missionaries of Charity have come to love our catechesis more and more and have requested more courses....One of the sisters said she was grateful for the CGS because "it had taught them the spirit of poverty".

The book you referenced is a good source, but the Religious Potential of the Child and Listening to God with Children are also great sources to help you learn more about this. Training is a great way to learn more. There is money to help. Just check out the CGS fund on the web site www.cgsusa.org
