Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello!

I am not the crafty type and I cannot knit or crochet (but I am trying to teach myself this winter.)
Do you all have any ideas for nice, not too expensive Christmas gifts? My girls want to try beading for my 14 yo niece and I am thinking of marshmallow guns for the boys....
I really need a few creative ideas for my siblings though. I had thought of food and will probably do some but my brother lives out of the country and needs something that will transport.......

I am actually trying to get this started BEFORE December, so any help you all have is very appreciated!

We just made some no sew fleece blankets at our little girls' group and my daughter wants to make one for everyone. I think we might just do that.

oh that's a great idea! My 4 oldest each have one that my son's Godmother made for them. They love them! We will have to make one for little sister and for the baby and maybe cousins as well!
Do you just cut the edges in strips and tie them together?

Actually, the way I was shown is different. After cutting out the 4x4 inch corner and the 4 in by 1 in fringe, make a small hole with a seam ripper at the top middle of each fringe. Push the tail of the fringe through the hole and you've made a cute little men's tie looking thing. This makes a single layer fleece blanket, which keeps it a bit cheaper than the tied double layer ones.

I can't wait to see more ideas.

a few ideas I'm using this year:

*homemade brown sugar scrub (for ladies)
*homemade granola in pretty gift bags
*homemade notecards, 6 in a set (each set has a thank you card, thinking of you, birthday, congratulations, etc.) I use my scraps from scrapbooking, ribbon, etc.

There are a ton of homemade bath/spa type recipes, I think the scrubs make great gifts because they are SO expensive to purchase in a store somewhere! I've been actually using the brown sugar scrub, so I know it's good!
Oh and on this page is also a coffee scrub!

Thank you for that scrub recipe! I think I will make that for my sisters-in-law. And for me too.
