Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Well... I have a diatonic Apollo lyre from the Rose Lyre Workshop.

It is beautiful and has a wonderful tone - this is *my lyre* that my dh bought me years ago for Mother's Day. I will allow my older girls to use it or my boys may pluck or stum if I am holding it. As you will see it is a bit on the pricey side. I actually can't believe my dh spent that much money! Maybe it was less espensive years ago.

There are other brands - the most basic decision is whether you want a pentatonic or diatonic - the diatonic has a wider range of notes but the pentatonic scale is lovely - it simply cannot sound bad and is wonderful for just playing with no music.

If the family has no musical experience or has many young children I would go with a pentatonic. I went with the diatonic because I did want the wider range of notes and you can play pentatonic songs on the diatonic.

I do not have any experience with instructional manuals - I got some hints and demonstrations from classes I took when my girls were very young.

I am inspired to get my lyre out - it's been quite a while since I played it. Might be just what my nerves need these days!

Thank You Thank You Donna I am not musical what so ever but dh can play anything so I'm assuming if mum brings it into the home Dad will get the kids going .He would never spend the money on a lyre right now . I am saving my daycare money up so many things but music I feel is a must for the kids and dh it is something they enjoy together .
Now do I still have enough money for my moccassins is the question
Thanks again , Roxie
