Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Saturday, dh and I are driving over to Naples with the girls to take a tour of the campus and the little town surrounding the new Oratory. We are going to make a day of it.
Is there something special we should not miss? I saw on the website that there is a store called, By Way of the Family. I will definitely check that out. I can then see the Little Flower books IRL!
Please give me some tips or ideas if you have them!!

Well, we're back.
It was really a wonderful day. It is amazing what has developed in the last 3 years. It was really quiet, which I did not expect. Not many people out and about in "town". We walked from "town" to the Student Union to eat lunch in the cafeteria. We heard so many different birds. In Ft. Lauderdale I don't recall ever hearing a bird sing. Ave Maria has a nature project going on alongside the building development, so that plenty of marsh area stays intact... (btw the girls were upset that we did not see an alligator on alligator alley!)
The History channel and a sports program were playing on the 2 TVs in the cafeteria. The magazines in the book store were all of good quality. No smooching on the lawn.....I mean, you could almost let your kids walk around freely without having to patrol...
Oh, I know it's not heaven. They do have their problems. Even among orthodox catholics there are divisions. Novus ordo, latin, Extraordinary, or N.O. Latin....
I guess I would have to spend some more time there to get a better impression, but my overall opinion was very positive one. I loved the Mass in the Oratory! It was N.O.
I just wanted to share.

Hi Stephanie,
We used to live in your area. We are a little further north now. My husband's family is still down south though.
My husband did some consulting in the beginning stages of Ave Maria. We are hoping to send our dc their someday. My husband says they had better get scholarships Glad to hear you had a good time. I would love to get down there and see it sometime. I think it sounds like a great place to live.
