Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My 6dd recently asked who came first: Mary Poppins or Laura Ingalls Wilder ? I decided that perhaps it is time for us to begin a timeline. I've been scouring the internet, but I'm just unsure of what to do. I'm not sure she'll understand the scope and sweep of time (as one long continuation) in book form (as in a Book of Centuries- though the one at Homeschool in the Woods is beautiful!). She's highly visual, so I tend to think a wall chart would be more helpful to her. But I need one that is durable and can survive a few moves. Also- I'd like her to draw her own pictures in it instead of cutting and pasting someone else's images. Any suggestions? Do you think a BOC would be just fine for a 6yo? Would she "understand" it?? Do you have examples of timeline work you could share??

How much wall space do you have? Whatever you make, you could mount it on foam board for more durability.

Thanks, Janet. You know, I flip-flopped over this all morning, and ended up deciding to go with the Homeschool in the Woods Record of Time after all. I was overthinking it, I do believe. A book will be much easier to keep neat over the years. Thanks for checking in!

I like Cheryl's time line. I know it is on her blog somewhere.
