Starbucks Offers Free Coffee for Homeschool Parents
This coming Monday, September 29, homeschool parents will be able to pick up a complimentary tall size (12 fl. oz.) cup of Pike Place Roast from Starbucks.
This promotion is part of Starbucks “Great Start for Great Teachers” promotion, and is now open to all teachers.
HSLDA intervened when we were alerted that homeschool parents were not included in the promotion.
We are pleased that Starbucks is recognizing the contribution of homeschool parents by extending their program to us.
In order to pick up your free cup of Pike Place Roast you will need to present evidence that you are a homeschooler.
Any one item on the following list should be accepted by Starbucks:
Home School Legal Defense Association membership card.
Membership card from a state homeschooling organization.
Notification from a school district or state government recognizing compliance with compulsory attendance.
Paperwork submitted showing intent to establish a homeschool program.
Paperwork showing the establishment of a private school.
If you don’t have one of the items on this list be creative and try to provide other proof of homeschooling.
Please note: the final decision about whether to accept proof of homeschooling resides with Starbucks.
We hope you choose to take advantage of this offer. |

Hmmm, I have about 4 doctor's appointments that day...I think I'll try and squeeze in one more trip. I will be driving right past the "drive-in" Starbucks in Annandale.
Thanks for the tip!
Peace.

Mary I LOVE Starbucks (not that the offer would be over here of course) but Starbucks pulled out of Australia a few weeks back with 100's of stores closing down including one around the corner from me... ..no more white chocolate mocha...

Oh Hey! Mondays are my grocery days and there is a Starbucks across the street from the bank - which is my first stop! It even has a drive through! YAYAYA!

Oh how perfect! There is not a Starbucks within a 50 mile radius of my house but Mondays are therapy days and we happen to be in a town where there are two! Mmmm

Lucky ducks...
I'll bet our Starbucks won't honor this, they don't even accept Starbucks gift cards!

Neither does ours since it's on post, but I'm hoping. If it doesn't work out, I'll fork over the cash and raise a paper cup to all my sisters who got theirs free!

Bumping this up. I just got back from Starbucks.
There were two police officers at the Starbucks I went to, at first I was wondering if they were truant officers. Then I was worried they would over hear me saying I home educate and ask me why my kiddos weren't with me. The stress of getting a cup of coffee.

I'm so glad you bumped this up as I forgot (see what happens when you're over the hill, looking down in that deep valley ) ....
So, did you get the cuppa?

Oh my goodness Mary Chris! You literally made me laugh out loud!
I drove right by Starbucks, but I didn't have any 'proof' that I am a homeschooler. I'm sure they wouldn't count the 3rd and 4th grade boys I had with me...

I went yesterday and no one asked for any proof. I did have my educator library card with me just in case. When the young lady was giving me my change (in the drive-thru) she said, "Oh, where do you teach?" and my 8yo popped up to the front of the van and said "She teaches at our house! We do homeschool!" The girl sort of looked at me funny, but said "Have a nice day!"
I really enjoyed that coffee.

Well, I never did make the 5 min walk. I refused to drink my special coffee in 3 quick gulps as I managed the 11 kids I had with me. I decided it would be better to just wait for a day where I could sit quietly alone and sip and sip and sip....That would be worth paying for.
