Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am looking at changing from motherease diaper covers to wool and I am wondering about everyone's favorite kind. I know there are wrap styles and pull on "shorties" styles and longie styles, but I can't decide on which kind. Dd wears ecobaby diapers that snap on so either style would work for her diapers.

Also what do you use to wash them?

I crochet my own. For cleaning I love Sudz n Dudz. I use the liquid for just a regular cleaning and I have a bar for stains and dirt. The bar is amazing for getting out the grime. I am amazed (and disgusted ) at the look of the water after I use the bar. You could just buy the bar and use that for regular cleaning as well, I just find the liquid more convenient for that.

For lanolin I use the stuff from Covered Caboose. Although the nicest and least processed lanolin I have ever bought is here. The price for 2oz is outrageous, but the price per pound isn't bad considering the quality of the product.

I like Sugar Peas covers, and my favorite woolwash is Kookaburra, though, I like Eucalan as well.

Jess,   I was also going to say to knit/crochet your own, especially as crafty as you are. I'm not half the crafty mama you are and I make my own, though I have bought some also. I also use Sudz n Dudz to wash, liquid for washing, bar for deep cleaning. (stains around the leg area and such.) I have bought from various places, but they both last a really long time. You only have to wash your woolies when they need it, not each day. A wrap style will be less bulky than a soaker, so you may want a few of those for under certain clothes.   I love a baby girl in a soaker with a matching dress over it! I have made soakers, shorties, and longies. You can google patterns and tweak to suit you! Have fun!

I knit them, I like the shorties and longies, not a fan of the wrap style. My SIL makes longies and shorties out of wool sweaters and I use those as well.
I wash with eucalan and lanolize with the cheap NOW brand from the health food store. I haven't had as good of luck with the grime, I might have to try the sudz n dudz, thanks for the hint mathmama!

Oh ok ok, I'll knit one LOL Now I just have to find a pattern I can do and get some wool yarn (darn I have to buy yarn LOL) Any recommendations on types of wool that anyone has used that you liked?

I think I will try the sudz n dudz wash and bar.

What is the best lanolin to use, the spray or the solid and where is the best place to get it? How long does each type last?

FYI, there is an entire Yahoo! Group dedicated to knitting wool soakers here. I found them to be a great resource when looking for patterns, including free ones, and learning different care techniques.
