Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I haven't had migraine for a long while and this one is a doozy. I'm on my second day with this and can't seem to shake it. I'm trying to keep up as much of my activities as possible - school is life today.

I made the mistake of pushing myself through New Testament class with Brian last night and went blind in my right eye just as class was finishing (another late one with Fr. Falco). I lost my bearings and got a nasty bruise walking into a bench in the hallway on my way to the ladies. It was a long drive home, though Brian probably should have been stopped for speeding.

Fortunately, I went straight to bed before I had to deal with the speech problems and Brian already knows the signs well enough that we don't need to talk, he just switches into gear.

The baby is fine, he's wiggling around as if nothing is the matter. Brian is home with me, and the kids are being as helpful as they can, but I've got a huge amount of work to do and the guilt is creeping in...

I could use your prayers both for my peace, and for this darned thing to clear quickly. I offer this migraine for all of your intentions.

Blessings,

I get the same symptoms with mine, Nissa, so I know how difficult it can be. I will be praying for you that this passes quickly and for your peace of mind until it does.

Thank you all so very much. I feel much better this morning, though still a little tweaky. Anyone who has had a migraine will know exactly what I mean. My chest is still quite sore from being sick, making it uncomfortable to get a deep breath.

Poor Brian has been trying all he can think of to make me feel better since meds aren't really an option for me during pregnancy. He's been feeding me and pushing fluids; and he insisted I go out for a drive in the car with him for some quiet and fresh air. I've been sleeping so much that I'm sick of the sight of my bed.

I can feel your prayers for sure. This was one of the nastiest migraines I have ever had - and it could have been much worse. I'm grateful that our classmates didn't see the full effect. I understand that it can be pretty worrying for onlookers since my symptoms mimic stroke.
And with a parish center full of EMTs and fireman (why do they all become Deacons?)... Well you get a good idea of what might have happened.

Blessings,

My mom and I call it headache hangover.

Praying as you recover today, Nissa.

I have migraines fairly regularly in my pregnancies (and when I'm not pregnant, too) - but they tend to ramp up in the last tri with no specific trigger other than - I'm pregnant.

Hoping your day is simple, quiet, and peaceful.

Oh thank you so much! I feel much better. I don't think this one will be coming back. I had a recurrence on Wednesday , but it only lasted for about half the day.

I felt better yesterday, and better still today. In fact, I feel back to normal today and good as new. It's a good thing, we have a busy weekend ahead - we're going to look (a third time) at a farm we're interested in, and celebrating my dad's birthday at our home.

I just need to keep calm and I'll be fine.

Your prayers worked better than any med the docs ever gave me - for sure.

Blessings,
