I need to decide on dd's Algebra program in the next week. I'm really leaning toward TT since Saxon hasn't always provided enough support for ME. Since TT hasn't been around as long, Dh is concerned about how well it prepares students for the SAT. Can anyone address this? Thanks!

Perhaps because it's relatively new on the homeschooling market, the users haven't gotten to the SAT point yet? Wish I could help, but I don't use the program -- so bumping, again

TT's website says that Geometry has SAT/ACT prep built in, with problems modeled after actual SAT problems.
We switched to TT this year and I wish we'd done it sooner. (We used Jacobs before.)
Does this help?

I researched quite a bit last year before we shelled out the money. Not being anything close to a math person myself, I had to rely on a broad range of opinions in reviews and on forums.
It seems that TT are aimed at helping kids do well on the standardized tests. If you have a math brain child who may be headed for engineering or a strong math field, then TT would not be rigorous enough. But they do a good job of prep for tests.
For a struggling math learner they are wonderful, they have helped us in that my math hater enjoys his lessons with TT.

Not exactly responsive to the question about SAT scores, but ds took a Math placement test for the college he is attending when he was only 2/3 of the way through TT Pre-Calculus. He placed into Calculus, scoring extremely well, not just squeaking in. (And, again, he was nowhere near finished with all that he would learn by the end of the TT course). The college he is attending is pretty hard-hitting in science, math, and computer-related majors, so I would assume that their standards for taking Calculus are reasonably rigorous. TT Pre-Calc. apparently did a fine job of preparing him; I would assume that the preparation it would afford for SATs would also be good.
Peace,
Nancy

Very good feedback
Only one reason why I love this board.
It's good to hear the positive plugs for TT. It has been highly recommended by a friend I trust but it also has gotten some more negative reviews, so I'm glad to hear the good affirmed.

Just as a side note.........
We use Saxon for the boys, but they also use an excellent CD Rom program that is offered for a HUGE discount through a program underwrited by a group of NFL Football players. You can purchase it through HSLDA website........SAT/ACT POWER PREP program Here's the actual link to the prep: Link for SAT Prep Program
I decided to purchase the SAT/ACT power prep that had the most included, because I wanted all that was included, and we also purchased this with our first son for only SAT, and it really helped him on the SAT!!!
But there is a lesser cost for the program with less included that is a huge help as well! You can purchase just SAT, just ACT, or both. We are thinking of having our son take both this time, so we bought both.
We've found it to be WELL worth the money, compared to the courses that you have to pay $500.00 for! Just wanted to mention this was available.
