Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

If your 11 yr. old dd wanted a blog only to share with family, where would you set it up? I've used blogger and xanga, but I'm not very knowledgeable about the how-tos. I want it private - no one but family seeing it.

Any suggestions?

Janet

I have a blog on Wordpress and I think there is a privacy option. I really want a Typepad account, but don't have the $$ right now.

I have a blogger and a Typepad blog (under $5 a month) and I know on both of those they have privacy options. Really the free blogger account has been fine, I just think typepad is "pretty". I would let my daughter do one if she were interested as long as I have her username and password (same rules as e-mail accts). I think doing a blog would be fun and creative for my daughter to do. What a great way to keep family and friends up on your daughters life and thoughts. Just my opinion.

I like Wordpress and its free. They do have a privacy option so it could only be visible to selected users. The only porblem is those users have to sign up for a Wordpress account and log in that way. Kind of a hassle, especially if they aren't real intenet saavy (i.e. our grandparents). I know Blogger has a private option and you don't have to have an account, just the password. I guest author on a Blogger blog and like the features pretty well there, too.

My dd asked to have a blog to post her photographs.
I already have a typepad account which includes at least two additional blogs in the fee.

If I hadn't already had typepad, I would have went with one of the free blogs that has a private feature.
