I wonder if slings are the most talked about topic in this forum.
My question: I have a Hotsling which a friend lent me. I like it, but it is starting to get too snug. It isn't very stretchy at all and I have to take my little guy out to nurse. It still works well for a basic carry, but the eternal search continues!
So, I am looking at the Karma Baby sling. Reviews say it has a deeper pouch than Hotsling and is rated up to 35 lbs instead of 30lbs. It's pricey, though. Anyone use this one?
Maybe I need a stretchier or larger Hotsling? Is there another pouch I should try?

The only sling/pouch that *ever* worked for me was the Maya Pouch (not the wrap).

I didn't nurse in it, but I really liked my Slingslings sling - I carried my 16 month old (at the time) with no problems. It had a pretty deep seat I felt. Good luck.

I was just looking at Slinglings. They have the most beautiful patterns I have seen and the best price.
It is amazing how many products are out there. Sure makes it hard to decide!

My favorite is my Kangaroo Korner fleece adjustable pouch. Only problem is it's too hot to wear in summer. So for summer I wear my Maya pouch (not ring sling) all the time. Nice and cool!

Haven't visited in months but this thread caught my eye as I've been looking at slings lately, expecting #6 in 10 days!
Anyway, I have a Maya wrap that I loved but it was much too warm for the summer months. I found the Baby K'tan sling at Target Here is the link. I haven't been able to find it locally and am seriously considering modifying my Maya wrap into one.
I think that, because the fabric is easily doubled, it is rated to 42 lbs!!
Give it a try,

I have a wise woman sling. It's a hybrid of a pouch and sling. I like it.

I had a Baby K'tan. At first I loved it! This is when my baby was really little and very fussy. It was easier to cradle him in than the Moby. But, when I would try to adjust him in it, say to nurse, it would come loose and wasn't as secure. Sometimes, I think I would get the layers confused and end up not having him in it right. One night he almost fell out while I was cooking dinner. I sent it back.
I have been hanging out at a forum called TheBabyWearer.com for the last couple of weeks. I am amazed at how many options are out there! There are reviews for hundreds of carriers, as well as lots of instructions on different carries. The ladies there have been very helpful. I do have to say though, that being used to only being on Catholic forums, I was a little taken aback by some of the topics there. It is a very diverse group.

I am lucky enough to have mine custom made for me by my very good friend. She is still available to make them if you are interested. She charges $40, I believe. They are great slings, she can make them in your choice of fabric and she also makes them out of fleece for the colder months.
