THE GOOD SHEPHERD by George Carruth
Votive statue
I found it in a local Christian bookstore and paid $3.00 for it.
Do you think it's nice? or will my dh throw a fit when he sees it in September?
It is very heavy...but you know....I kinda like it.

I've always liked that candle holder. you got an amazing deal! I've looked at it the Monastery Greetings catalog for years, but never had the $40+ to spend on it.

I've not seen that particular statue, but I just wanted to 'brag' that the Carruth Studio is about a 20 minute drive from here! ;)

The shop had a second piece too. I am considering buying a second as a gift ...
I am glad to hear that many of you do find it lovely. Now I just need to find a worthy place for it.

I've been eyeing that for such a long time, especially connected with the Good Shepherd in Atrium. That's quite a buy!

I love it too, Stephanie. And I'm guessing you deserve it! lol
My mom had a strong faith, and growing up, she had statues all over our home, indoors and out. Also holy water, prayer candles that burned until they were gone, rosaries all over the place. I thought it looked more like a church, than a home.
Now my home is looking more and more like the one I grew up in. I get it now. : )
Maybe a little OT, but here is the statue I'm pining after. A lovely Kitchen Madonna. I like this one because it's bigger.

It's beautiful. We rec'd it as a present for my first daughter's baptism. Now we use it as a Prayer Candle every night.
I love it.

Love it! It's really beautiful. Now I've got one more thing to add to the old wish list...

This was the gift that the CGS catechists at our parish (there are 6 of us) gave at the end of last year to the lovely and generous family who allow us to use their home for our Atrium. It is beautiful! But $3? Wow, Stephanie!
Peace,
Nancy
