Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My poor dd. A police officer laid on our doorbell at 4:30 this morning. She is still shaking over an hour later.

The newspaper delivery person spotted my purse in the ditch by our house and called the police. Someone got into my car overnight and took my purse. Luckily for me, our parish picnic was yesterday and I had taken everything but a little a cash and my drivers license out of my purse. It gets set down so often at that type of event, and I worry about it being snatched (or simply losing it ) So they got the cash, but thankfully left my DL in my purse and tossed it aside.

I know better than to leave it in the car, but we were tired, grubby and in the case of the 4 year old - cranky, when we got home so I didn't empty the car. I thought I locked it but obviously not. So my dh is mad at me, my dd is wide awake and upset, and I am feeling violated.

Not the best way to start what I had planned to be our first day of the school year.

My goodness, LeeAnn! It's the violation that's hard. Knowing someone was in your driveway and bold enough to get into your car. Do you have, or plan to get , the motion detectors?

for the newspaper carrier.

Praying your family has a day filled with peace....especially your daughter.

Thank you for posting. It's a reminder for me to lock up tight...I am one who often leaves my debit card and a little cash in the console of my car.

Thank you for the kind words.

We prayed awhile, read from her saint book, and are now steadied enough to get to work.
