Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Please pray for me and my family as my oldest starts Pre school and then Kindergarten at a great Catholic school next year. I fell in love with the idea of home schooling, in particular the concepts and way of life portrayed in Real Learning. As I was falling in love with this though, it was driving my dh and me apart. I decided that no matter how great hs is, without my dh's support and participation in our lives, it would never be what I wanted it to be. Thankfully, my dd is excited about it and we will still be doing 'preschool homeschool' as she is excited about that also. I am peaceful about it, but also know that it will be hard to transition (mostly for me!). Thank you all your support and I pray for each of you!

You have my prayers and continue to have the support of this forum whenever you need us.

I firmly believe that you can still "home educate" your child in the things that matter. The school has your child X amount of hours. You have her for a lifetime.

Your words must have come from an angel (or the Holy Spirit!).
Thank you

I have been reading so many books through the years to encourage me in how to home school. Now I'd like to find a book(s) that are similar except for the fact that we will also be partnering with our parish school. I guess I'll write my own if I can't find it but until then-any suggestions?

Praying! You know, when my son went to school in 7th grade every morning we gathered at breakfast for catechism and prayer.

Cay is right...:)
Blessings,

We receive so much grace through obedience, simplemama! Your commitment to your husband's wishes will surely bring you so much peace and many blessings. I will pray for your heart as you transition your energies and efforts to homeschooling as a partner with your parish school. Hugs to you!
