Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi everyone! This is my first post. I am so excited to be here and look forward to getting to know everyone better. I plan on introducing myself in another post. In the meantime, I am freaking out because I wanted to order the two aforementioned books, for my 3rd and 5th grader at the beginning of the summer when you could purchase a softcover for around $9.00. Husband says "wait" so I did.(kicking self) Now they are sold out EVERYWHERE. I can get a used copy with bent pages for $33.00! And the primary one, I can get for the same. I checked ebay and there are a couple there, but they have quite a few bids already, so I am thinking there are some other frantic lastminuters out there like me.

Suggestions anyone?

Welcome, Wendy! It can be disorienting when we have one plan in mind and then our plan needs to change. Happens to my family all the time, whether its about home education, finances, scheduling, etc. What I have found is when I can't get my hands on a particular home education material, God provides something else! So while you wait for this particular material, ask yourself if another material can be substituted or if there is another way to reach the same goal of the material through other means.

This is a great forum to help you reach your Language study goals. Is there something in particular that you would like suggestions abuut how to approach learning? What are the ages and needs of your child/ren?

Love,

Is this Emma Serl's PLL and ILL? I have the hardback versions in a discard box -- was going to donate them to our little homeschool group.   I love them but they just don't fit my boys' learning styles, so I was going to regretfully say goodbye to them. It would be great to give them to a good home if this is what you are talking about. I will send you a PM.

Thank you, Loren. I have been lurking here most of the summer, and feel I have stumbled upon an invaluable resource of support and insight, not only with homechoolng, but in my daily walk with Christ.

In fact, one of the things that made me hesitant to join, is it just seemed everyone has it so much more together than me, and are so *good.* Hard as I try,it seems my horns stick out further than my halo sometimes. THANK GOD for his grace and the Sacraments.

Thank you for the welcome.

Angie, this is REALLY good advice that can be applied to all aspects of life, not just homeschooling. And something I am constantly needing to relearn. Trust Wendy, trust.

Willa, after my post I went to lay down with the baby and said a prayer about the book situation. When I woke up, there was your PM! Thank you, you are an answer to prayer.

yes, and this time of year I have some copies that have been table samples at conferences that I can sell at a cheaper price. But a free copy from Willa sounds like your best bet
