who is going through a "materialistic" phase right now. He sees so many things his friends have (non-homeschoolers, older kids) and has the "why can't I have that" syndrome. His 17-yo sis went through this around that age and she's past that (Thank You Lord!) so we're praying this too will soon pass.
Please pray that he remains open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, that he remains open to us and that he's able to trust in our wisdom and guidance.

The prayers are helping, gals! Thanks! Had a heart to heart with him and dh on Wed. night and we thought we had ironed out everything but yesterday he was being difficult again (not doing chores or schoolwork) -- but I'm too tired to yell at him or get on his case so the whole week I've been quiet and just *tolerating* him. And just praying. Well, last night he came to me and told me he plans to do all his lessons today. And he did his chores after dad came home in the evening without a complaint.
Someone PMed me asking for ideas, so I'll start a thread soon...
but wanted to come back here and THANK YOU for all the prayers!! These kids really do keep us on our knees, don't they?
