We have that one and a bunch of others as well. My 10yo likes them, but he would like anything that said "Politically Incorrect" on it. Pretty much any guide in that series would be decent reading for a high-schooler, and the science one makes a useful resource if you have to do, say, a debate on global warming.

You don't find them to be....slanted just a bit much? I have the one about Islam right now, and it is a little...a little bit skewed to an ultra-conservative view, although it is informational. I have read a bit of the American History one too. But I saw the science one, and what it was supposed to cover, and it gave me pause. I haven't read it yet, but will be getting it from the library.

We have that one, the American History one and I think the Islam one. I like them simply because they always present "the other side of the story".
They are great for the older kids and adults who can then use them as a springboard to research the issues further

Laura- they are skewed to that conservative side, but when you consider that the vast majority of the 'other' books on any given subject are skewed in the opposite direction, I think if you read this AND those others, you get a pretty good feel for the truth . And like I said, you can then use it as a springboard to further investigation.
