Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This area of the forum is from diapering to drivers' ed., right? So can I ask any moms who have survived teenagers who drive how they have coped, or are coping? I am a nervous wreck! My oldest daughter has totalled two cars and now my second is scheduled for her road test in a few weeks! Any tips on maintaining sanity during this time would be welcome. In December, child #3 will be eligible for his learners' permit. I have to be the one teaching them because of dh's hours away from home. I still am white-knuckled sitting there in the passenger seat. One coping mechanism I can share... when my oldest was still learning, I imagined how the Blessed Mother might behave if she were teaching Jesus to drive. (I don't think she would have been kissing the driveway upon arrivng home safely, as I wanted to do) It helped a little, but somehow, I think Jesus would have been a better student than my children

I love that about thinking about the Blessed Mother. My third is in driver's ed now and I just have to let someone else work through the beginning stages of driving with him. It is not good for either of us to have me in the car. My second has had two accidents. Not totals, and noone hurt - thank God. The worst part is the insurance bill!!!!

I don't have much advice for you sorry. Just joining in the misery.

Mary

My three oldest did not drive until they were 18 and working. They paid for their own private lessons, their vehicles, and their insurance. They all drive very responsibly. Karen
