My mum (Betty) is having a cataract operation tomorrow morning at 8am (it is 6.30pm at present) so first thing tomorrow.

She is so nervous, well almost beside herself with worry over it all. While there is a really high success rate she seems to have met people who haven't had good results. She has 3 different but aggressive cataracts in this particular eye, so she would be legally blind in it.

Both my dh and my mother have had cataract surgery in both eyes, with no problems. It really does have a very high success rate.
