I'm feeling a bit greedy, asking for so many prayers, but it seems as though so many people around me are in great need. Here's the latest:
Our dear friend, Dan, is single. He's been fighting off an infection in a body part he's too embarrassed to mention to me - he wound up in the hospital when the infection sort of oozed out from under his skin. He wasn't able to contact any of us to tell us what had happened, and we got worried when he didn't answer his phone, so I was driving over to his place to see if he was OK (he lives about 60 miles away) when he finally called from the hospital.
I went over and visited him and he's in good spirits but very run down from the infection. I had to call his mom in Oregon and tell her about all of this - he can't call out of state from the hospital - and I've alerted our group of friends for prayers and support once he gets home.
His recovery will be long and painful - he'll need a home health care nurse to pack the lancing incision created by the hospital with gauze antibiotic strips every day - and I would really appreciate your prayers for Dan. He's a great friend to all of us.
Also, please pray that once he's better we can encourage him to include is in a revised emergency plan. I think it's really hard to be single and try to figure out how to cope with illness and disaster.

Nancy,
NO feeling guilty for asking for prayers here. That's a rule! 
I am praying for Dan. It's tough having infections, because it can become scary if not taken care of. Tell him to rest and take good care of him!
