Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My son really enjoyed The Indian in the Cupboard and was asking about the sequels. Anyone know anything about the others?

My ds really liked them, tho he said he didnt finish the last two.

The Return of the Indian gets great reviews. The series was a childhood favorite of mine but I don't remember it well enough to address any specific concerns.

I liked those books as a kid but they weren't memorable beyond just remembering that I did enjoy them. Nothing stands out as bad OR good.

We liked them a lot. It was a long time ago that I read them to ds as our nightly read-aloud, so I don't remember details. But he did love them all.

My ds, 8, just finished the first two and has the third ready to go. He absolutely LOVED The Indian in the Cupboard but said The Return of the Indian "was good, though, not as good as the first one."

We did them as read alouds ages ago with my oldest boys. They really enjoyed them but my brian is foggy on specifics. I must not have had a problem with them - at least not one that stuck in my mind.

Thanks for the help. I think he is just looking for something new to read right now and he did really enjoy the first one. I would think that someone would have remembered if there was anything really disturbing in them. I am OK with summer reading that is more popcorn in nature than meaty.

My oldest read them all and doesn't remember anything objectionable. He enjoyed them, but said first was best.

My 12 year old read them a couple of years ago. I remembered that the last 2 he said were a little "weird". I just asked him why and he didn't remember every detail (though a surprising amount of detail he did remember!) but he said that there was "real magic" in them. One of the characters could really see the future when she poured lead (or something like that). I told him that it was his guardian angel giving him a nudge when something like that bothered him.
(I'm not saying the books are evil, but maybe some topics to talk about.)

I read these myself a few years ago. In my opinion, the first one is the best of the series by far. I don't recall specifics, but I do remember thinking
that the others wouldn't be appropriate for my kids to read. I'm very conservative when it comes to reading material, but I recommend you read them yourself first.
