Well, we have used up our "cushion". We are now officially living on the $150-200 a month we have leftover after bills. Hopefully, the Veteran's Affairs letter telling us how much disability DH qualifies for...and how high a percentage his combat related special compensation will be...these things will be crucial in getting us over this hump. But the sooner the better...they told us between 30-45 days after his last apptmt. Which would be mid-late July. If it comes in early enough, we could easily have a change in finances as of 1 August. If it is later in the month, we won't likely see anything til 1 September...and we need the money sooner rather than later....
The health woes belong to my dad. He had prostate cancer years ago, and they removed his prostate (his choice, it wasn't that bad, but he decided he'd rather have it out and gone). Well, the last few years, his PSA levels have come back "off"....meaning that there is cancer somewhere in his body. The first year, they didn't even tell him, last year, they told him, did some more tests, and didn't find it...then his results came back badly again this year. Monday he goes in for more tests, to see if they can find out what is going on. PLEASE pray for him, and his doctors...his name is David (my youngest is named for him).

I am praying too! Things have been tight for us too and I am learning to find my peace with it. I get out in the fresh air and sunshine a lot with the kids and keep my heart as close to God's as I can.
One devotion that I love is the one to the Infant of Prague. "Honor and respect the Infant Jesus and you will never be in want.” I remember Mother Angelica once saying that she kept a small statue of Him over her refrigerator...lol! Gotta love that kind of practical faith!
We will keep your dad in our prayers as well!
May you receive many unexpected blessings and much peace!
