Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am totally frustrated, ready to gnash my teeth I am trying to share some documents on my blog, I tried to use free file hosting only to find when I published my post the links didn't work. I don't find free file hosting fast to use anyway

Dh told me to use pdf files to share that way, I converted as he told me, when I asked how to link he didn't know and had to dash out the door to work, argh!!

I know this question of sharing has been answered before and when I did searches here I obviously wasn't typing in 'the word'.

There has to be an easy way, so often I want to share and can't because it is all so labourious. The pdf files seem to be the trick I've noticed many of you use pdf files to share, so what is 'the secret'? Or any easy way I'm open to suggestions. Can I PLEASE have some help. (Begging icon here)

Erin, Do you have a gmail account?

Is this for your blog, and if so, what extensions does your blog host allow?

I use Open Office to convert my files to .pdf, and can upload to Wordpress no problem. Just hit the button and upload.

Can you describe in detail what you are looking for help?

Jenn

You dear friend I do have a gmail account the trouble is I can't get in because I can't remember my password, I should try it again.

It was for my blog, I wanted to share here directly as I know some of the ladies prefer not to have to go to a blog but after discussion it seemed too hard to do it that way. My blog is blogspot and I'm not too sure that it alllows anything other than linking straight to a http address, I can't find otherwise.

I was trying to upload an excel spreadsheet, now dh showed me how to convert to a pdf file, what do you do after doing that? Perhaps I can do it too

Marilyn, google docs was the name I was trying the search engine for this morning but not having success because I couldn't remember the name.

Erin,
I went to your blog and couldn't open your links. I spent all last night and the better part of this morning trying to figure google docs out because I wanted to put up some pdfs on blogger and they don't just offer a happy "post your pdf to your blog" button. WHY NOT??!!!! I won't start that rant.

What an enormous frustration google docs was/is. They list specifics in their help section for how to post a pdf to a blog - "simply do this, this and this on this page." Trouble is, the page does not exist, nor do the buttons. I found numerous discussions from people who found the same thing. Apparently, google docs is a very slowly developed beta.

Anyway...

I ended up saving my files as .jpegs and got them up just fine that way. By doing that, I can go into blogger and insert them just like a picture/image. You can always click on any image in blogger and it blows it up in a new window which makes your document/pdf/picture/whatever bigger and readable. Anyway, thought I'd mention that option because it was a good work-around for me!

Check to see if there is a way for you to "save as" and save your file as a .jpeg not a pdf and upload it that way.

Jennifer

Thank you for letting me know that the docs wouldn't open, on my computer they are appearing, after receiving your email I rang a friend and asked her to check on her computer, it was sending her to a google docs page as if she was going to upload. I went back to google docs reading more and found out the same thing you did. Sigh.

I follow what you are saying about the image method, and checked out your blog. I can't find the jpeg option on my computer Maybe dh will have an idea when he comes home. Why can't this be simple? Pleased for you though after frustration that you managed to get it to work. Well I'm not beaten yet.

What a great idea! I'll have to try that myself. Thanks!
