Our new little one arrived 3 days ago and is so precious. Unfortunately, his bilirubin has been on a continual climb since birth along with a positive coombs test. Tomorrow is his final bilirubin test to determine whether he has to be admitted back into the hospital.

Praying for him! All of my babies have high bili counts, too.
I'm sure you're trying this, but just in case...I turn my chair around so that I'm sitting in front of a sunny window, and take everything off down to the diaper. I sit there with the baby on my lap 3 or 4 times a day for about 20 minutes each. If the baby is in direct sunlight, maybe only 10 minutes each. It does make a difference if the windows screen UV - don't know if yours do, but thought I'd mention it.
I'll be praying.

My 5th had this as well Margaret, including the positive coombs. We did not have to go to the hospital, they ordered billi lights to come out to our home. Is that an option? It was a rough couple of weeks due to no sleep and everyday weight/billi checks, but she quickly turned pink and started gaining weight!
Our jaundice turned out to be blood incompatible and breast milk jaundice. I've had other babies with my dh's blood type w/no problems...and I had breastfed 4 others w/no problems...go figure! My pediatrician told me to just keep on nursing through it all. She said, "I just don't think God would make breastmilk harmful." What a relief b/c so many times they advise weaning, if not completely, at least for a couple of days.

Congratulations, Margaret! Praying for him. We've had the high bilirubin for both boys, and we had the light at home, and nursing every 2 hours (from start to start). It was hard, but he made it through without having going back to the hospital or doing formula or glucose water.
A friend of mine bought full-spectrum UV lamps from Home Depot for her twins and used them at home with great success, too.
When he does come around the corner, I found this personally helpful. The body starts turning pink from the feet and the eyes and face are last to change. So don't lose heart when his face is yellow for so long, start looking at his feet and legs first!

Thank for all your prayers. The pediatrician just called and his number has gone down a point! Jenn - thanks for the color information - his little face is still so yellow but I do see the improvement in his lower torso.
