Please pray for a family who lost both their father & eldest son yesterday. The son drowned trying to save his dad. They were part of our local Marian Cenacle.
The 18-year-old son was planning on becoming a religious in the fall. The father went to confession earlier in the day & reminded his children to wear their scapulars before they took a swim.
A little under a year ago this same family lost their home to a fire and had recently filed bankruptcy. They leave behind Mom, 2 daughters & 2 sons.
Thanks be to God, they all have a strong faith and are surrounded by an incredible faith community. I would appreciate your prayers though as this is a particularly difficult cross for all of them.

***UPDATE***
The remaining Girard family - Carol & the 4 children - were selected for Extreme Makeovers!!! They were notified this past Thursday & are presently vacationing in Disney World. They'll "move the bus" this upcoming Thursday at 2:00. A group of us are praying a novena to the Immaculate Conception, particularly for conversions for all of those involved. The show will air on Sunday, February 8th.

This is just so sad. I'm praying for the repose of these two souls, and for God's merciful Hand to be present to this sorrowful family in a most tangible way during this tragedy.

Thank you so much to everyone for your prayers.
Our famiy was able to attend a Mass for the 2 of them tonight & we talked with the mom afterwards. She is an absolute pillar. The prayers are working!
