I think I have posted about her before, but now we face an imminent end. My Aunt Sue has been battling cancer for about 20 years now and the decision was made several weeks ago to stop treatment and provide palliative care at home. We got word the other day that she is sleeping 18-20 hours a day and is failing. When my parents called to make arrangements for a visit next week, my uncle told them it is not likely that she will last that long. So of course they headed over there this morning. Please pray for the remainder of her time to be peaceful and grace-filled. Also that her passing be easy and peaceful. I think most of all, my uncle needs lots of prayers to get him through this difficult time and the many lonely days to come. They were never blessed with children. Sorry this is so long winded, it's very hard. Thank you.

My Aunt Sue died yesterday at midday. She is at peace and is whole and well again and I know God rejoiced to have his child come home. Here is the email we got from my uncle. Please continue to pray him through this very difficult transition.

This morning at 12:12 pm, Suzanne slipped away from us and began her journey back to the God and Father who made her and whom she served her whole life. Her leaving was very quiet and peaceful. Rose Mary and I held her hands and her brother Gene and his wife Coletta were here with her as well. We were blessed that she never experienced the severe pain that is usually associated with this disease. So her battle of over 18 years is finally finished. I consider her to be the victor, because she's now experiencing the joy of being in God's presence while the cancer died with her body and left behind here on Earth. I miss her terribly already, and will until we're together again. She was not just my wife, she was my best friend, my lover, my co-conspirator, my confidante - the light of my life. Now I must go on without her, but not alone. I trust that God will still be with me. Perhaps someday it will become clear why this was part of His plan for us. Please continue to pray for us.

Thank you very much. This is very hard and at the same time I feel joy for her. She and my uncle were my godparents.

Hi All! We just returned from my aunt's funeral and everything went well, as far as that goes. I wanted to thank you all for praying my aunt into God's arms, I am sure that all the prayers contributed to her calmness and peacefulness during her final hours. She was a special lady who maintained a strong and resolute faith during her entire battle with cancer. We are all very lucky to have her in heaven's army now fighting for our souls. Thank you again.
