Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am looking for some challenging read-aloud books for my 2 1/2 year old. I've tried looking up preschool reading lists and it's all stuff like, "If you give a mouse a cookie" and "Corduroy". Don't get me wrong, I love those and we read those constantly but I'm looking for something more. We just finished reading all of the Pippi Longstocking stories for the 3rd time. I need something different but at about that level. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Puggle has loved the Milly-Molly-Mandy stories by Joyce Lancaster Brisley... we've been reading them for about 12 months (as we find more books:-) ) He was probably about 3 when we started them.

My little guys love all of the Virginia Lee Burton books - Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel, Choo-Choo, Calico the Wonder Horse, The Little House, Katy and the Big Snow, Maybelle the Cable Car.

Winnie the Pooh
Beatrix Potter
Brambly Hedge
Raggedy Ann and Andy stories (by Gruelle)
Charlotte's Web

I think that those are about Pippi Longstocking level.

Just thought of the Thomas the Tank Engine books - those are favorites here. Also Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy.
