I saw the sample page and I am trying to figure out if the sample page is just repeated each week for 52 weeks, or if there are other jobs that are rotated in and out each month?
I'm working on my very first Home Companion this summer. Truth be told, I am swamped, after having crossed over from 5 to 6 children (6 mos ago), and having children from high school age to babies is an entirely different experience than having lots of littles. For some reason, everything seems much more complicated than it has in the past. I'm an organized person, for the mostpart, but I am feeling overwhelmed and don't even know where to start.  I downloaded Holly's MROL worksheets but I'm also looking for some other helpers...no sense in recreating the wheel if I don't need to, kwim?
Can anyone give more more details about Motivated Moms, please?

the "jobs on the side bar" are always the same. The ones in the "main section" rotate and change - it's not the same page for 52 weeks. (some jobs are always the same - like changing out the hand towels, but the other jobs change.)
I like it. It's helpful, and reminds me to do things that I sometimes would overlook (clean out the toaster crumb tray, etc.) I've ordered them for a few years now.

I have used MM for two years now. I really like it. This year I bought the one page per day version and didn't like it as well. Mainly because I like to see the whole week. I print the schedule for the week and put it on the fridge. There are certain chores that are the same each week like clipping the kids fingernails on wed. or changing the towels twice a week. When I print the sheet at the beginning of the week I place the initial of the person doing the chore by the chore. During chore time the kids can check the list and know what to do.
I am not good at sticking with any one system (I wish I was)but I have found that when I get derailed MM makes it easier to start again. I find it simpler than FL and much simpler that MROL.

Maybe someone can help me with this. I printed off the MM page per day. It was a pain because my printer will only print one page at a time, while I feed it the paper, one sheet at a time. Anyway, I was so excited to try this that I decided it was worth the headache. But then, after doing it for a couple of weeks I felt that a)it was sort of disjointed and b) my house wasn't getting as clean as I would like. By disjointed I mean, for example, when it says to clean one shelf in the fridge. I understand that is probably due to time - I might have 10 min. to clean a fridge shelf but not 45 min. to clean the whole fridge. But then I am also to clean the windows in the living room. Now, why not clean the whole fridge on one day, and clean the windows of several rooms on another day? Is it just my personality that keeps this from working for me?
I quit using it for a while and went with a fly-lady sort of routine instead, but the other day I came across my stack of MM planning pages that I printed off and thought what a waste of time, printer paper and ink. So now I want to make use of them again. Any suggestions, or should I just admit defeat?

I also found MM to be disjointed. I decided not to use them this year and instead write to-do lists for myself every night for the next day. This is working out much better for me.

If I want to use the daily list type of set-up, I make a blank sheet using paper and ink, then I run off a batch at Kinko's. I'll make a master list of what has to happen each week, each day, etc. and then work from that to fill in the blank forms. That way, I can add up the 4 or 5 *clean one fridge shelf* jobs from a single week and put them all on the same day or put one on a certain day with wiping the kitchen (not the living room) windows. If I'm looking at a crazy out-of-the-house-too-much kind of week, I can choose to include only the more important tasks on the form. I love to read lists and ideas from all sorts of resources like MM, FL, etc., and then take the best of what works for me. That isn't even necessarily the same thing every week and almost certainly not *exactly* how someone else would have done things. One person's *disjointed* is someone else's *perfect system*.

Well, this has been very helpful. Someone also sent me some samples of MM (thank you, youknowwhoyouare!  ) and I think I am going to give it a try. It doesn't bother me, the disjointed thing. I feel less overwhelmed with a certain number of things each day, and I have given up on the hope of a clean top to bottom house right now with a baby who practically lives in my arms or in a baby carrier. One clean fridge shelf is better than none, right??? 
I am reading Home Comforts right now, after seeing recommendations on Kim's and Elizabeth's blogs. What an *amazing* book! Its not only practical, its also inspiring. I am using it to learn and then to figure out what kinds of things I need to add to/delete from MM for our size family (honestly, I cannot imagine making a priority out of clipping nails...am I weird???). I also bought my binder for my Home Companion...a deep dark blue, which is going to look lovely with the clip art I am scrounging of old fashioned country images and roosters. I don't blog, which is a bummer to me, because I would love to show it to someone when its done and frankly, other than one IRL friend, y'all are the only ones who might want to see!  Oh well, c'est la vie.
Thanks again, everyone. I am slowly beginning to feel hopeful rather than overwhelmed.

But you could just upload the pics here ! I love looking at the Home Binders that others make - it is inspiring! I keep *almost* making one. Right now...I just use a clip board
and I am actually one of those moms who needs the "nail clipping" reminder, because I forget, and the kids never remind me

i need the clipping nails reminder because otherwise, i have a horrible night of being scratched to death by a nursing toddler.

See, I never get to do the fairs since I don't blog!  I should say I don't blog because I know myself...I would want to update it regularly and it would be so fun that the children in my home would see the back of my head way too much. Maybe some day when the kids are all older, I will be able to. But I'd love to read about everyone else's if y'all did a fair!
