My husband's last day of work at his current company is Thursday (yea!!) and he starts his new job on Monday (yea again!!). However, we will not have health insurance for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and we are going out of state! I am a little bit scared that this will be the time that something really expensive will happen to one of the kids. Please pray that we all remain healthy and unbroken during the weekend. Thanks!
Blessings,
Betsie

Betsie, if your dh paid his health insurance premium at the beginning of June, wouldn't you all be covered through the end of the month? It couldn't hurt to ask the human resources person at his soon-to-be-old job.
Praying for you,
Mary Alice in Kansas

No, we are only paying the premium up to the 12th. We don't need to be covered after Monday, so they mutually decided to cut it off after the 12th. Trying very hard to be a supportive and submissive wife here
Blessings,
Betsie

praying for you.
maybe you could request an extension. you have to be careful about gaps in insurance, especially if you have any pre-existing conditions. not trying to worry you more, though.

After a good night's sleep, something in my foggy mind is remembering an insurance plan that covers temporary needs for insurance...Cobra, maybe? Please disregard if not helpful.
OK, I'll get back to praying!
Love,

I was actually just coming here to mention that. It's an expense, and I think you have to pay monthly, but it means no lapse in coverage and it might be worth the peace of mind. And, if I'm not mistaken, they have to cover you if you request and pay for Cobra. Just an option to look into maybe?
Still praying to your guardian angels though!

I used to do a little HR work, and Cobra is perfect for a case like this, because you have up to 90 days (or something like that, it's been a loooong time) to submit your application and make the payment. So if something happens and it's very expensive, just submit the Cobra application, make the payment and let them cover the treatment. You'd have to pay first and be reimbursed, which is always a pain, but better than expensive medical bills! Cobra is expensive, though, so really it would just be worth it for something major. Your dh's company should have an HR person who can give you the current regulations.

I was going to suggest what Molly said about COBRA. This is always what we do (have been "between insurances" many times). Fortunately, we've never needed to apply (except when I've been pregnant). Praying that all goes well on your trip.
