Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm a bit surprised today. After 5 babies, of having my body return to normal regularity at 14-16months after birth, today, not quite 5months after Annunica, it has returned. I don't know why my body would be doing this after having a fairly established pattern with all the other children. Has something like this happened to any other lady, have you heard what possible reasons there could be?

The only thing different with this baby, than any other was the manual removal of membranes after birth...oh, while I think of it, the first post-partum with a properly managed thyroid...Annuncia DOES seem to space night feeds a little longer but I'm still night feeding..

Ann,
My first until my third, my cycles remained at by until around 12 months, after my third, they have returned as early as 3 months. I have no idea what was different, other than tandem/triple nursing, and you'd think that would keep it away longer.

For me, I've kinda figured out that spacing more than 3 hours at night has a tremendous effect, also, when I hit a certain weight. Another 'theory' is that with more children, comes less rest. I'm not real sure about that though, because I can nap while my older kids hold things down for an hour...

Bottom line for me though, is that this seems to be what God has planned for our family! Regardless of what the textbooks say!

Well I'm carrying more weight than I ever have in my life at present...and I'm not getting much sleep, with the settling of my heart irregularities I've hit the boards running.

Anne--Between babies 1-4, my cycle did not return for 14-18 months. I was pregnant for baby 5 when #4 was 8 months old without ever having a full cycle first. After #5, it was about 7 months. I don't know why things would shift like that either, but it sure was surprising to open up the orange juice and throw up, which is how I knew I was pregnant for Kolbe!

Anne, my cycle returned after about 5 months with my DD1, and 9 months with my DD2, who slept through the night much earlier than her sister and never fed much at night. Given that DD3 was (is!) much the most frequent night feeder of the three and my age (45 when she was born) I confidently expected it to be a lot longer ... but no, only 6 months this time. So I have no idea why it is different for some than others, and I can see no logic to it at all!

Anne,

My fertility stayed away for 15 months with my first baby and has stayed away about 11-12 months with the rest. I have found that rest and very frequent night nursing are the keys for me, though I have never woken my baby up to nurse at night--they just seem to do that enough on their own!

Also, since Annuncia is still so young, you may NOT be fertile even though you are bleeding. I have known friends who have had one cycle and then none for months...they could tell by their charts that they weren't ovulating... Try to get a bit more rest--God has created us all so differently. He keeps life exciting, doesn't he?

Prayers for you!

Thyroid plays an important role.. just having that properly managed would probably change things toward an increase in fertility.

As for the rest.. my cycles start up at 7.5-8.5 weeks every time so far

But Jennifer is right.. just because you have cyclic bleeding doesn't mean that you're ovulating yet.
