Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

So in my nesting phase I seem to be going through right now...I'm thinking about my nice Medela breast pump. It's all set (I always over produce and tend to do some pumping especially in the beginning). For whatever crazy reason, several years ago, I was possessed to throw away all of the plastic baby bottles I had accumulated over the years. Now I have nothing to store milk in.

The reality is I probably won't ever need the extra, but I hate to throw it away, it's like liquid gold. I had a 33 weeker (dc #5) and he needed my stored milk when he was still transitioning. Anyways, you just never know.

So my question...I saw Target carried medela storage bags. I don't think I have seen them before. So between the various choices for bottles and now bags and also the plastic scare...is anyone doing any pumping and in what are you storing your milk?? And even if you store the milk in the bags, if you have to use it, what kind of bottle are you using? (My dh in a pinch has used a medicine cup but obviously that doesn't work for a whole feeding!)

I just had to pump for a surgery, Kacky. I used the Medela pump and bottles. The new ones are bpa free. They seemed to work ok - I only pumped for that occassion, and God willing, won't have to again. I got mine at Target. The storage bags were ok, but I preferred pumping and storing in a bottle since I didn't have to store for too long. The bags were a little clumsy to work with, and the tops tore easily.
